PTI Heart Hop

This month the Papertrey Ink blog hop's theme is HEARTS!  We were to make make a card with hearts, keeping someone special in mind, write a message on the inside, and then send it right out.

I chose to make my first shaker card. I've had the "Shaker & Sprinkles" kit and used it for other things...just not a shaker until this weekend ((gasp)) !

I used some bright and cheerful papers by Echo Park called "Splendid Sunshine."

Split the sentiment so that part was inside the heart, and part outside.  Added some of the mini pink sequins from the kit and some hearts cut from the same background paper.

The "scatter" was cut from black cardstock then coated with Wink of Stella glitter pen.  Two mini adhesive hearts and some baker's twine to frame the sentiment.

I know just who to send this to...someone who has been making some fabulous handmade gifts for the family to keep us all warm and snuggly this winter!  If you are reading this, THANK YOU!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sunshine Tag

Got some stamping time this weekend, and played along with the first Tag You're It challenge of the new year!  So glad that it continued :)!

We were provided with some sweet inspiration from Heather Campbell...

Here is my tag...

I kept Heather's fun and cute theme but changed my sky from stars to more of a morning theme :)  The adorable bird and images are from Lawn Fawn's "Hello Sunshine" set.

To make my sky, I used Papertrey Ink's "Background Basics: Hearts" set.  I heat embossed it in white on white paper, then added color over the top using Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Stormy Sky.  Added some Tattered Angels "Glacier" Glimmer Mist over the top when finished.  Then added Wink of Stella pen on the sun, cloud, and bird to add MORE sunshine sparkle!

This challenges was so much fun, it made me want to go and stamp some more!

Happy 1st Anniversary, Fusion!

It's the Fusion Challenge's one year anniversary celebration, and the DT members chose this lovely photo to celebrate...

I chose to use just the photo as my inspiration...

The banners made me think of this My Mind's Eye "Love Me" paper that is so cheerful and sweet!  I made a matching mini banner at the bottom using the papers and a tiny banner die included in the Polaroid Fun dies from Mama Elephant.  I decided to make a chalkboard mason jar using a sentiment from Gift Card It, jar images from Candy Jar Christmas Fillers, and the Jar Essentials dies from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Can't wait to see what Fusion has in store for their second year, there has been such inspiration already!  :)

12 Kits of Occasions...with Cathy!

It was our last edition of the 12 Kits of Occasions for 2013 and we celebrated Baby New Year :)!  Cathy was our hostess this month and she sent us a kit just packed with every cute item that you could ever want for a baby card coupled with the sweetest pastels and patterned papers!  Excuse my late arrival to the party, as our whole family ushered in the New Year with the dreaded stomach bug.  Here's hoping it's the last we see of that this year (well, forever would be even better)!

Cathy found the sweetest printed die cuts and I fell in love with this giraffe!  She also cut so many words with her Cameo...

Next more pattered paper and die cut words.  The "Sweet" made me think of the pea pod in Papertrey Ink's Baby Button Bits!

Instead of buttons, I used some acrylic dots that Cathy sent, then added some extra leaves to the pod that were cut with a Memory Box die.

This is probably my favorite card of all, LOVE this stork die cut!

Added a sentiment from Baby Button Bits, the heart dies from the Shaker and Sprinkles Make It Market kit, and a flower made with a WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals.

And since Baby Button Bits was on the table, I was inspired by the patterned paper to make a little flower garden of my own.  How adorable are these safety pin brads?!

Thank you SO much, Cathy for this wonderful kit.  You spoiled us (like I am sure you are spoiling that new grandbaby of yours, as you should)!!  Be sure to check out the other ladies' beautiful projects linked HERE at our 12 Kits Blog.  Don't forget to check out our special guest's Lynn's post HERE too!  As always, you can visit our Pinterest page and our Facebook page, too.
